GRASSROOTS HEALTH
SUMMER 2022 // As a non-profit based in Washington D.C., The Grassroot Project mobilized college athletes for HIV prevention efforts in underprivileged middle schools. But as the scope of their mission evolved to support a more holistic approach to health education, the need for a full rebrand quickly became clear. That’s when I was hired as a Brand Identity Director. The brand I created reflects Grassroots’ innovative, youthful, and sporty approach to health education, and represents a commitment to students’ holistic growth and well-being.
BRAND GUIDELINES
As the Brand Identity Director, I was responsible for turning the logo concept into something practical. From there, I developed all of the brand assets, wrote the design rationale, and designed these thorough style guidelines to create a unified visual identity and body of communication materials.
REBRAND REVEAL TRAILER
After thirteen years as "The Grassroots Project," the time had come for the big announcement. This trailer was shared with donors, schools, and other supporters to remind them of the journey Grassroots has taken — and to formally unveil the rebrand in August of 2022.
WEB DESIGN VIDEO MOCKUP
Designed to roll out with the rebranding of Grassroots Health, I developed a large-scale vision for an overhauled grassrootshealth.us. After creating the sitemap, I used Adobe XD, Photoshop, and Premiere to create a mockup video that visualized the interactive elements, brand implementation, and general layout. My internship at Grassroots concluded shortly after the site entered prototyping.
740 ZONE
FALL 2020 // In the face of a worsening pandemic, opportunities for media students quickly diminished. To provide dozens of students with a professional-grade broadcast production, I helped found the 740 Zone, a high school football publication established and managed entirely by students. I built the voice and visual brand of our publication from the ground up, and my work as our graphic designer helped us make a name for ourselves as a premiere destination for southeast Ohio sports coverage.
BOBCAT E! NEWS
SPRING 2020 // A student-run startup for entertainment news, Bobcat E! was looking to bring a fresh angle to Ohio University student media. The show published episodes on YouTube, in addition to ongoing coverage and feature stories on social media. I created the show’s comprehensive multimedia branding kit — including logos, color palette, typography guidelines, lower thirds, and animations.
SMASH ATTACK
SPRING 2018 // Smash Attack was a social media brand dedicated to news coverage, speculation, and community engagement regarding an upcoming Super Smash Bros. video game. The logo I developed is a modernized take on the game’s 1999 debut. I was also the sole graphic designer for all weekly updates posted by the outlet. In its short nine-month lifespan, Smash Attack gained over 3.5k Instagram followers and 300 YouTube subscribers.
